I've added two new reaction diffusion models to ReDiLab: Node: a cubic coupled implementation of the Gray Scott model and the same of the FitzHugh-Nagumo model. These differ from the existing versions in that rather than having their parameters catalytically coupled, they have values injected into the equations using the cubic coupling technique I've used previously.
I've added a few new presets to demonstrate how these new models can behave. After some tinkering in After Effects they can look like:
I also returned to one of the original presets - number seven, Blobby Liquid, and had a play in After Effects which now reminds me of neurons firing or a swarm of frantic fire flies:
